You Heard It Here First!

You may recall talk of my memoir in newsletters past. You might remember the viral Today.com article that got at the heart of what I was trying to accomplish with the project, or the piece that followed.

To catch you up, acknowledgment of poor-decision making is part of life, especially during a teenager’s pre-frontal lobe development. Amnesty Day allows children to retain their self-esteem amidst inevitable failures, while also encouraging parents to take a step back to consider how they want to react, and to discover how a crisis can be an opportunity to strengthen familial bonds.

And now it’s going to be a book. I won’t pretend to have been a flawless parent, I promise. But I will hold on to hope that each generation can move closer to emotional health and functionality. And that the manuscript is done on time!
